Dr. Robin Carhart-Harris is a leading neuroscientist, Imperial College London, who is the first person in the UK who has conducted LSD study on human subjects after more than 40 years. His originally psychoanalytic orientation led him to interest in studies on uncounsciousness with use of psychedelics and neuroimaging methods. Dr Carhart-Harris has done studies on psilocybin, MDMA, and newly LSD. He examines its influences on functioning of brain and looking into possibilities of therapeutical use in a treatment of psychological disorders or addictions. Moreover, he is an author of the Entropic Brain Theory which provides a connection between modern neurobiology, psychoanalysis and theoretical physics. Most recently he has completed the first phase of a clinical trial looking at the potential of psilocybin to treat depression.
